Mike started Stout Construction in 1983.  In 2005 we added Conklin Roofing Systems to his construction business to help him meet the needs of solutions for flat, metal and low slope roofs.  Conklin Roofing Systems solved roofing issues for our customers better than we ever expected.  We seldom receive a call back on a roof after we have applied a Conklin system on it.  Our customers have also shared with us that these systems have lowered their heating and cooling bills by up to 20%.

Three years after adding these systems to our business, we were applying more Conklin Roofing Systems than we were doing construction.  We have renamed our business Stout Roofing & Coatings, Inc. We also made a better profit margin with the roofing systems.  We are able to apply a system much quicker than building a house or remodeling one.  We use less crew members applying the systems than we do in construction, therefore, lowering our labor, workman’s comp insurance, etc.  These systems are the “New White way to roof.” 

We have applied each roofing system Conklin offers throughout the state of IL and have assisted other Contractors in many states to do the same.  We have found it a passion of ours assisting other Contractors in getting started with the Conklin Roofing Systems.  Mike is a Master Contractor with Conklin and qualifies to teach others.

We discovered that Conklin offers incentives to Contractors as well – Destination trips!  Since 2005 we have traveled to Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, Hawaii, San Diego, California, Marco Island, FL, Branson, MO, Scottsdale, AZ and several other areas with most expenses paid by Conklin!

In 2009 I was able to quit working 2 ½ jobs and work fulltime with Mike in the business.  We now have 9 grandchildren that we have time and funds to give life experiences to.  We have been able to help support our nephew to a life changing camp that we never thought we’d be able to do.

Social Media Marketing for Conklin Contractors

I have been marketing on social media for years now, with great success!
It has really kicked in the past few years, after the launch (2008) of my website that my Team of contractors and I put together, along with a blog site that we started in (2010). Having these things in place for marketing on social media has been the biggest key to my success. With all this in place, I started by sharing value to my followers on social media, NOT spamming them with junk. By sharing roofing and roof coating info from my blog site and driving traffic to the website the search engines (SEO) has kicked in to help get the website found when customers or prospects are searching the internet for info.


I have learned a lot over the years and ready to help others!

The summer of 2013 I saw a need from talking with a couple Conklin contractors to open up my website to help other Conklin IBOs (contractors) that didn't have a website, or know how to build one. After seeing what some of you were or weren't doing correctly or at all on social media to market, I decided to offer the website to other Conklin contractors to have access to and to be listed on the website to get roofing leads.
In the past couple years I have been getting roof leads from all across the U S, this is what helped me to decide to see about letting other Conklin contractors join the website also.

So I put together an idea and put it into action last fall (2013)! I had 2 Conklin IBOs see the opportunity that joined right away and have seen great results from the website! (watch the video below to read their results) Along with their learning how to market on social media the proper way.

I will be limiting the number of contractors in an area, so DON'T wait to join!
